multimedia tools

The three designs pen2, zoom and touch are multimedia tools for the interactive use of the Brockhaus encyclopedia.

Through the combination of digital and analogue knowledge the design adapts to the information society of today.

Therefore, the transfer of knowledge from books becomes more flexible and interactive.

The design touch reduces the interaction between the analog book on the one side and the digital content on the other side to the control of intuitive finger movements.

Reading is particularly known to demand a child’s attention. To facilitate this process children use their own finger in a manner which prevents them from getting lost in the text an to ensures that they stay in the correct line.

Touch not only enables a touch gestures control, it also makes scanning an easy process by just touching the code in the book with the device.

By doing so, this reading device also enables its user to watch videos and other audiovisual contents on an external monitor and loudspeakers
